Iconic Post Office Red Telephone Box British K6 Phone Post Box With BT Payphone

The red telephone box was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott (1880- 1960) and, along with the red post box and the red London bus, is an instantly recognizable symbols of Britain. 
This particular one was made by Carron Company Stirlingshire. Scott's design of the K2 cast iron telephone kiosk won a Post Office sponsored competition in 1924. His updated K6 design follwed in 1935.
This is a beautifully aged original K6 telephone box. Perfect as a garden feature, light, flower box, green house it’s an adaptable and great looking piece sure to make a statement!
Overall in good condition, it has all glass panels and is in sturdy and strong condition. We have not replaced all glass panels and some will have wear to them, one small panel has a crack in. We do not refurbish our telephone boxes to be perfect, we hand sand them down to give a smoother finish when painted, we purposefully leave previous paint layers and age related wear to make sure they retain their character. It is sure to last many more years to come and continue to age beautifully. 
Most of K6 telephone boxes have been removed from our streets and sold off. The replacement boxes are less pleasing to the eye and have little design merit.
Fortunately, however, about 2000 red telephone boxes were declared listed buildings and remain in place. We are lucky enough to have the pleasure of coming across phone boxes to bring them back to life and offer a great piece of British design history to your home.
